Fun with Puree-ing

Assalamualaikum...

Wah lama pulak rasanya tak tengok blog. Quite busy with some works at office and also mak long 'little-little' business kat FB hehe. Actually last two weeks mak long were having fun with making frozen homemade puree to Rayyan. After months of googling and picking up infos on puree, mak long want to share few tips and simple recipies here. For new mommies, this is some info on what you need to know before preparing your little darling's homemade foods. (Note: This preparation is more towards preparing foods to bring to your baby-sitter's house).

1) Knowledge
Ini yang paling penting. This could be basic info tentang apa yang boleh diberi/tidak boleh diberi kepada bayi mengikut usia mereka. Jadi, rujuklah kepada carta pemakanan bayi. Boleh type kt google 'Baby first solid food' dan keluar la chart.

2) Equipments
Takde la equipments apa sangat, just benda-benda yang memang dah sedia ada kt rumah kita. Since perut baby masih kecil dan sistem penghadaman belum lagi betul-betul matang, makanan mereka perlulah distim/boil terlebih dahulu. Mak long tak de la set steamer and blender yang mahal-mahal gitu (walaupun kalau ada sangatlah mudah kerojer). What mak long has in house are:

a) Slow cooker - boleh stim buah-buahan/sayur-sayuran dan lepastu boleh masak bubur nasik yang seciput tu. Mak long pernah masak dalam rice cooker, tp hanguih laa sbb air cepat kering since berasnya sikit saja utk buat makanan baby ni. Kalau takde, no choice just rebus dalam periuk biasa.

b) Blender - untuk blend buah-buahan/sayur-sayuran yang dah distim/boil dan juga untuk blend bubur nasik. 

c) Penapis - untuk tapis buah-buahan seperti kurma yang mempunyai kulit yang keras dan kadang-kadang tak berapa hancur walaupun dah blend lama. 

d) Ice Cube Tray - mak long beli yang siap ada penutup dekat Mr. D.I.Y. Kalau takde penutup kena la  balut dengan plastic untuk memastikan kebersihan puree tersebut.

e) Breastmilk Storage Bag - since ada banyak lebihan storage bag ni, daripada tak guna mak long guna untuk letak puree yang dah jadi cube dalam ni. Jimat ruang instead of pakai tupperware/bekas sebab mak long buat stok puree untuk seminggu saja untuk di bawa ke rumah Ibu Rayyan.

 3) Cara-cara penyediaan puree

 Puree Lobak dan Brokoli
Step 1:  Basuh, selawat dan potong lobak kecil-kecil. Begitu juga dengan brokoli. Mak long guna baby carrot sebab cepat sikit nak empuk. Kalau kentang, mak long rebus.

Step 2: Masukkan semua sayuran tadi kat slow cooker bahagian steamer, stim dalam 8-10 minit.

Step 3: Lepastu, blend dengan air masak.

Step 4 : Tuang hasil blend tadi dalam ice cube tray dan simpan dalam freezer.

Step 5 : Keesokan harinya, bila dah beku mak long masukkan cube-cube yang telah dikeluarkan dari ice cube tray ke dalam storage bag tadi mengikut jenisnya dan bawak ke rumah pengasuh. So cukup la stok untuk seminggu. Bila dia masak bubur nasik, dia just masukkan dua tiga ketul kiub tadi ke dalam bubur. Kalau nak buat stok untuk tempoh yang lama, better label tarikh la kan.

Puree Kurma dan Kismis

Step 1: Basuh kurma dan buang  bijik. Kismis pun basuh la kalau rajin dan selawat.

Step 2: Letakkan semua bahan di atas tempat stim dan biarkan selama 10-15 minit.

Step 3: Blend dengan air masak atau susu ibu.

Step 4: Tapis dan lenyek dan kita akan nampak kulit2 kurma yang keras tu akan melekat di penapis. 

Step 5 : Masukkan dalam ice cube tray. Tapi jangan terkejut, kurma sangat susah nak membeku. Itu yang mak long pelik sket tu.

Menu ni sesuai untuk  breakfast, serve with biskut heinz. Masa memula Rayyan try puree kurma dan kismis ni, reaksi dia lain macam sikit. Manis sangat gamaknye hehe...on second day, ibu dia bagi, dia dah okay.

Okay tu jer..senang kan? Tapi mak long memang tak sempat nak snap gambo. Sambil buat kejer, sambil tengok Rayyan yg dok 'driving' keter merah dia tu dan ambil barang yang dia jatuhkan :P Setiap kali bagi balik dia akan jatuhkan lagi..haha...apa-apa pun, kita enjoyyy!

kami pon dok start cari info psai solid food baby ni.memula igt nk beli ja pkakas2 tu tp bl tgk hadiah kawen ada slow cooker so pkai hat ada ni je la.blender just beli bowl asing utk baby n 1 utk blend cabai...hahahaha

ha tu la nab..guna benda yg dh mmg ada ja.. ayu ada baca komen2 gak kt blog orang, once baby dah boleh makan betul2 nanti dah tak perlu nk blend2 dan steam bagai..

I was so excited that Sunday evening. Maklum la, lama tak jumpa member2 MBA. Really miss all those good old days with you guys. Most of us already completed the course and struggling with our thesis project right now. Ada jugak yg dah siap .. huhu caya la! Actually gathering ni dah beberapa kali ditunda sebab ramai yg tak dapat dtg before. Finally, everyone agreed to meet on Sept, 30. Reached Alamanda earlier than anyone else, I guessed. Nobody was at the restaurant yet. Sementara nak tunggu semua org datang , pegi la check our reservation dgn waiter kat situ Hmm .. menarik jugak . Nice and strategic location. 15 minutes passed. Started to sms those who'd confirmed to come. Mane sumer org nih? At the end, there were only 5 of us. Me, Kak June, Kak Gee, Maz and wife - Madiha and their little cute baby boy. Huhu kinda of upset but it's ok . We enjoyed the little gathering. Thank you Maz for treating us all :)

The Mysterious Card's Sender...

Remember I did mention about ‘a card’ which I found at my hometown last 2 weekends? Heheh..taraaaa…..let’s look a little bit closer….It’s me! I sent the Raya Card to my mom and dad…probably I was in standard 1 at that time. I read the card with my mom and both of us couldn’t stop laughing…so cute..hehe. The 'ucapan' seemed so small. So I write it here..:) "Assalamualaikum mama dan ayah. Bila Hari Raya nanti buatlah kuih banyak-banyak. Boleh lah kita makan sama-sama. Mama cuti nanti Ayu nak tidur rumah tok OK! Ku himpun sepuluh jari meminta maaf kepada ayah dan ibu" Kat sampul surat siap ada pantun, aduih... "Isnin dahulu baru Selasa Senyum Dulu baru buka" P/S: Buat kuih banyak2 tu tak tahan! kah kah..happy nya jadi kanak-kanak...

Women are stupid?

Woo woo..hold on girls. Don't get so emotional. It a question mark, not a statement. This topic actually came out of my head when I was watching Bulletin Utama while having my dinner this evening (Bad habit for those on diet: Eating while watching tv ). A girl, at K. Terengganu wanted to jump from a hotel roof after an argument with her boyfriend. This fellow scolded her for not telling him that she went back to her hometown ( Kes merajuk ler ni lepas kena marah ). Why arr...some women like to do stupid things like this. A 'self- destruction ' I would say. Why did she choose to kill herself instead of killing the guy that broke her heart? Kill him first la, then only kill your self (Ada berani ?). Huhuh ...I'm just kidding guys! Actually my point here is, why do you want to hurt your self. He won't lost anything. He could find another new girl friends. And you? Buried underground. I remember during my school time, my ustaz said, those who committed suicide ...
